Discover a Spanish Wine Bar in Fitzroy

Tucked into the heart of Fitzroy, Añada is a wine bar built around Spanish wine, sherry and spirits, each chosen with the food in mind.

From our home at 197 Gertrude Street, we’ve been welcoming locals, wine lovers and the simply curious for more than 15 years. You don’t need to know Rioja from Ribera del Duero to feel at home here. Our team is always happy to guide you through the list, glass by glass.

Spanish Wine and Sherry

Our wine list is firmly rooted in Spain, with 69 bottles from 23 regions and a selection available by the glass.

Alongside the wine, you’ll find Fino, Manzanilla, Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez sherries, as well as vermut served simply over ice with an olive. If Spanish wine is new territory, our team is always happy to help you find something you’ll love.

A few reasons to join us for a glass:

  • A rotating selection of Spanish wines by the glass from $17
  • Sherry by the glass from $12
  • Happy Hour daily from 5pm to 6pm, with $9 wines and tapas
  • BYO Tuesday to Thursday, with $30 corkage per bottle

You don’t need to make an occasion of it. Walk-ins are always welcome at the bar when we have space.

Pull up a stool for a glass and a few plates, or choose a bottle and stay for dinner. Our focus as a tapas and wine bar in Gertrude Street has always been simple: Spanish wine in all its variety, chosen with the food and the people around the table in mind.

For Friday and Saturday evenings or larger groups, we recommend booking ahead.

Wine and Tapas

Wine and food have always gone hand in hand at Añada. That’s what makes us one of the best wine bars in Fitzroy.

Our list is chosen with the kitchen in mind, from sherry alongside something salty to Spanish reds with richer plates from the grill. Order a few tapas as you go, or choose a bottle to share over dinner.

Explore our Spanish food in Melbourne, with tapas, charcuterie, paella and larger plates made for sharing. For something a little more intimate, make a night of it at one of Melbourne’s romantic restaurants.

Groups and Private Bookings

Good wine is even better around a full table.

For birthdays, celebrations, work dinners or larger gatherings, get in touch with our team and we’ll help arrange a table that works for your group. For larger bookings and Friday or Saturday evenings, we recommend planning ahead.
